Description

The Telephone Operator is responsible for answering incoming calls, directing them to the appropriate departments or individuals, and providing accurate information to callers in a courteous and professional manner. This role plays a key part in ensuring smooth communication within and outside the organization.

Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and professionally.

Direct calls to appropriate individuals or departments.

Provide information to callers regarding company services, locations, and general inquiries.

Take and relay accurate messages when necessary.

Maintain an updated internal directory of staff and departments.

Handle emergency calls and procedures according to company protocols.

Monitor and operate switchboard or multi-line phone systems.

Log and report any communication system issues.

Perform clerical tasks such as data entry or filing as needed.
