Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service is paramount. Cashiers greet customers, assist with inquiries, and process transactions efficiently and accurately. They may also handle returns, exchanges, or refunds, ensuring a positive experience for customers.

Cash Handling: Cashiers are responsible for handling cash, credit/debit cards, and other forms of payment. This includes accurately processing transactions, providing change, and reconciling cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts.
Operating Point-of-Sale (POS) Systems: Cashiers operate electronic cash registers or POS systems to scan items, enter prices, and process payments. They should be proficient in using these systems to ensure smooth and accurate transactions.

Product Knowledge: Cashiers should have a basic understanding of the products or services offered by the business. This includes knowing the prices of items, identifying promotions or discounts, and providing information to customers as needed.
