Job Summary:
The Waiter is responsible for providing excellent customer service to guests in a restaurant or hospitality setting. Key Responsibilities:
Guest Service:
Greet and welcome guests upon arrival.
Present menus, answer questions about menu items, and make recommendations when requested.
Take accurate food and beverage orders from guests, input orders into the POS system, and ensure timely delivery.
Order Management:
Relay orders to the kitchen and bar staff accurately and efficiently.
Ensure food and beverages are served at the correct temperature and presentation standards.
Handle special requests and dietary requirements with care and attention.
Table Maintenance:
Set up tables with appropriate tableware, condiments, and linens before service.
Clear and clean tables promptly after guests have finished their meals.
Refill beverages and attend to any additional needs of the guests throughout their dining experience.
Billing and Payments:
Prepare and present the bill to guests at the end of their meal.
Process payments accurately using the POS system and handle cash, credit, and debit transactions.
Provide change and receipts to guests and thank them for their visit.
Customer Interaction:
Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner to ensure a positive dining experience.
Address any complaints or issues promptly and escalate to the manager if necessary.
Solicit feedback from guests to improve service quality.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth service flow.
Assist other team members during busy periods and provide support as needed.
Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Hygiene and Safety:
Adhere to health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.
Follow all food safety protocols and ensure proper handling of food and beverages.
Report any maintenance or safety issues to the manager promptly.
Qualifications and Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience as a waiter or in a similar customer service role.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent customer service and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Basic math skills for handling payments and making change.
Proficiency in using POS systems and handling cash transactions.
