Assistant Accountant vacancy in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, and will support the accounting department in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and assisting with day-to-day accounting functions. Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable & Receivable: Assist in managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring invoices are processed, payments are made on time, and outstanding balances are followed up.
General Ledger Maintenance: Assist with maintaining and reconciling general ledger entries to ensure accurate financial records.
Financial Reporting: Prepare routine financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, as required by the senior accountant or finance manager.
Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts and credit card statements on a monthly basis, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.
Month-End and Year-End Close: Assist in the preparation of month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring all financial information is accurate and submitted on time.
Data Entry & Filing: Maintain accurate financial records, including scanning, filing, and organizing invoices, receipts, and other accounting documents.
Audit Support: Assist in preparing documentation and reports for internal and external audits.
Ad-Hoc Financial Tasks: Support the finance team with various ad-hoc projects and tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
Education: A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Alternatively, professional qualifications (e.g., AAT, ACCA) are a plus.
Experience: 1-2 years of experience in an accounting or finance role, with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling financial data.
Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with team members and departments.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve discrepancies efficiently.
